A campaign spearheaded by the NRM Deputy Secretary General, Rosemary Namayanja, and the State Minister for Microfinance, Harunah Kyeyune Kasolo, aims to resolve a raging disagreement pitting the Sembabule Woman MP, Mary Begumisa, against the Mawogola West MP also the State Minister of Health, Anifa Kawooya Bangirana.
The warning is part of their prophetic 27th pastoral letter, titled “The Truth Will Set You Free,” in which they address several pressing concerns, including political division, tribalism, poverty, unemployment, and governance issues.
According to David Wasswa Ssengendo, Director of Counterterrorism in the Uganda Police Force, this softer approach involves building relationships with local communities, understanding their concerns, receiving feedback, and empowering them to prevent the spread of extremist ideologies. Wasswa acknowledges that traditional security measures are no longer enough, and a more nuanced understanding of the complexities of terrorism is required.
On Monday, Eight farmer groups with a membership of 120 each in the two sub-counties of Looro in Amudat and Tapac in Moroto received 1,010 kilograms of maize seeds, and 202 bags of fertilizers for both Urea and DAP, worth 50,935,000 shillings. The farmers are yet to receive the post-harvest storage bags and maize grinding machines for value addition, costing 55,047,000 shillings.
